"I Say So "

I Say So is an installation piece. It is a collaborative work by Nur Aisha and Kim Hyesu. 

​

Hyesu and Nur Aisha, who have similar existential concerns – most strikingly dysmorphic concerns and anxiety, set out to write each other letters. The performance – of writing, folding, sending and opening, becomes a prominent aspect in this collaboration, in which the process itself is an actual body of work. Subtracting the essence from letters, Hyesu and Aisha create a body of work together using intimate materials – fabrics and paints, and form into a tent, which invites the viewers to come in and read the letters. This self-narrative work creates a platform of empathy for both artists and audiences.
